“I’ve seen Dr. Watts a couple of times, once in late 2024 and again recently, and both visits were great experiences. She is very kind, easy to talk to, with excellent bedside manners. She takes the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly, and she always answers my questions with care and accuracy. I never feel rushed during appointments and always come out feeling reassured. There is also an intake process where an assistant takes the time to listen to my experience and symptoms in detail before Dr. Watts comes in, which I really appreciate. Dr. Watts then follows up, answers all of my questions, and makes sure everything about treatment is clear. If my seborrheic dermatitis flares up again, she will definitely be my go-to provider. I highly recommend her.”

“I’ve had an amazing experience with Dr Shanice Watts! She has been truly wonderful in performing my microneedling treatments — my facial skin tone has improved so much, and I’m really happy with the results. Yesterday, I had a session to remove a large mole on my back that’s been there since childhood, and she immediately treated it by freezing it. Hopefully, it will fall off in a few days. She is highly experienced in skin treatments and always works very gently, taking into account each person’s skin texture and sensitivity. I really appreciate her professionalism, care, and attention to detail. I’ll definitely continue getting my skin treatments with her in the future!”

The reception staff is rude, dismissive, and can’t be bothered to finish personal conversations to help you. I was hoping this was a one off problem but each appointment is met with the same attitude and unwillingness to assist. Between not acknowledging patients, not being accessible on the phone, sending out incorrect information, talking about patients in front of guests in the waiting room, the reception team alone consistently disappoints and is increasingly difficult to work with. Being seen by PA Watts and Sierra is great, but not at the expense of dealing with rude staff members who are unwilling to assist their patients.
The Physician Assistant Shanice Watts didn't examine well my injured toe during a dermatologist visit. She saw a dark spot in my big toe and sent me right away for a biopsy when I didn't need it. Luckily I didn't make an appt for the biopsy. Now after 3 months of my appt with Shanice, my big toe is healing, the dark spot is almost gone, it moved from the bottom to the top of my nail so it was not a suspicious melanoma as she was thinking. Shanice is not a good dermatologist. She told me "Sorry, do you have a family?" Like if I was going to die ... what a weird question. Please be careful when choosing a dermatologist. Thank you!
Dr. Shanice Watts is an exceptional physician. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and takes the time to truly listen to his patients.

Shanice Watts is a great professional. She listened patently to my concerns and that the current medications were not great, and she offered different medications that might work better in my case. She was very friendly and professional. My problem is with the wait time, but this is more a problem with the office and their schedule and time management. I was seen by Shanice Watts 25 past my appointment time, and they ask to arrive 15 minutes prior to the appointment time, overall 40 minutes in the office. Unreasonable.
All the staff were great. Friendly and efficient. It was the most efficient skin exam I’ve ever had and would be happy to recommend the skin institute. Shanice was excellent, knowledge and kind.
Very kind, quick and careful

I found out about the California Skin Institute after having a really bad experience with another dermatologist at another place. Today, before, during, and after the appointment, I felt heard and well taken care of.

The fixture listened very carefully. The doctor helper was awesome too. She went over everything with me and even wrote down instructions for me to follow.
Had an excellent experience at my first ever skin cancer screening. It was quick, thorough, and everything was explained to me so I wasn’t uncomfortable or surprised. I look forward to my follow up next year.

I went in for help with my long term acne. It’s been long overdue and I’m finally seeking help. Shanice was so kind and warm and helped come up with a plan for my specific acne. I’m looking forward to trying it out and seeing how we can get rid of this annoying acne once and for all!

Attentive and detailed, very helpful

Office was easy to find ( parking can be an issue) the staff was very nice. Shanice Watts PA was thorough friendly and a good listener.
Verified patient
Shanice Watts is very kind and friendly, and she seriously saved my skin from acne. When I visited Ms.Watts for the first time, she gave me a whole new skincare routine for day and night, detailed out on paper, as well as two prescriptions. After 8 weeks, my skin has improved drastically. I've spent 6+ years researching and trying out different skincare products (and even tried a different dermatologist before her), but I've learned that it's simply best to see a professional as good as Ms. Watts.
