About Dr. Sharon Somekh

Hi! I’m Dr. Sharon. I’m a board-certified pediatrician born and raised in Queens, NY. I attended Binghamton University and earned my Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, where I also completed my pediatric medical training. Being a mom to four daughters has greatly influenced my practice of medicine over the years. My challenges breastfeeding my first two daughters inspired me to become an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant to assist moms in reaching their personal breastfeeding goals. My experiences as a mom and pediatrician have led me to coach parents through the many challenges of raising children of all ages, with a primary focus on relieving parental anxiety and helping parents truly enjoy this time in their lives, as every stage of parenting brings a unique experience that shapes us as human beings. The past few years have offered me the opportunity to practice in local homes, getting to know families on a deeply personal level. Additionally, with the decline of the pandemic, I have been fortunate to explore an additional specialty as I’ve begun to practice Aesthetic Medicine. In my free time, I enjoy curling up on the couch to watch movies with the girls, playing tennis or boxing, and going out with friends. As a local mom in Roslyn, I truly understand how raising children in our wonderful community can simultaneously be both the most challenging and most fulfilling experience. I am excited to continue caring for your children in a medical environment that fosters a more intimate relationship unique to Concierge Pediatrics.
