Thank You for taking the time to read my bio. I understand that you have may foot and ankle doctors in this area and I am truly honored and appreciative that you have chosen me for your needs. I was born and raised in Bethesda, MD where I graduated from Walter Johnson High School. I grew up in a household that really stressed excelling in the sciences as well as performing community service. Naturally, being a physician encompasses both those principles. I went to Virginia Tech University where I studied Biology, Chemistry as well as Cognitive Psychology. From there, I west to the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia where I completed a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. I performed my initial training at George Washington University and the VA hospital in Washington DC. From there, I did my advanced surgical training at Kaiser Permanante in Oakland, CA. I was blessed to have trained with some of the most prolific Podiatric Surgeons in the country including Dr. Graham Hamilton, and Dr. Lawrence Ford. Many people ask why I became a foot doctor. The foot and ankle while may seem simplistic at foist glance is actually a highly complicated and sophisticated part of our anatomy. The Human foot and ankle as over 27 bones, muscles, tendons, and joints. Many complicated diseases such as Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Vascular disease are manifested in the foot and ankle. I always found this to be fascinating and rewarding. I treat everyone from the newborn infant to the geriatric population. The conditions I treat range from everything from an ingrown or fungal toenail, to competitive athletes, heel pain, diabetic wound care, bunion surgery, esoteric skin condition to ankle injuries to performing complex reconstructive foot and ankle surgeries.

I was pleased with the medical care I received. He did a painful procedure on me and made it easy with his comforting small talk. He has a very kind demeanor about him. Very skilled.
The most dirtiest doctor ever. Un professional. Worst doctor
very professional and to the point.
Pleasant bedside manner, got right to the medical issues, cut my ingrown toe nail with no pain, made an orthotic, and sent me on my way to pharmact to take care of mt toe nail fungus. Very pleasant exoerience!
Great, easy visit. The doctor was friendly, warm but also to the point and efficient. Took care of the issue immediately.
Very welcoming. He genuinely seemed interested in trying to make a proper diagnosis and provide an informative discussion.
Dr. Srivastava was professional and very knowledgeable. He did not rush me at all in regards to any questions I had. I would highly recommend going to him.
His awesome, very friendly and polite.
Couldn't have gone better
Office staff was good, wait time short and the doctor was excellent! Only wish they could do x-Rays in house.
I arrived early and was taken right back to a room after my check in. Doctor came in shortly after and recognized the problem and took care of it.
Outstanding, as usual! One of the best providers I have!
Not only was Dr. Srivastava great, but the woman (I believe her name is Briana) at the front desk was so polite and professional. Dr. Srivastava was very friendly and answered all my questions. He was eager to help me. It really seemed like he cared. You can tell he takes pride in his work. I wish all doctors had his passion.
I can thoroughly recommend Dr. Srivastava. Knowledgeable, friendly, and clear in his explanations.
Excellent doctor! It was a pleasure to visit him this morning.
He's reasonable and the office is efficient!
Very punctual and professional. Highly recommend!
I was in and out in 25 minutes, elevator to elevator, with no waiting and no hassle. Dr. Srivastava also actually listened to me, and considered my lifestyle when figuring out a course of treatment. Highly recommend ??
Dr. S is an honest and professional doctor. He always makes me feel welcome and does his best to explain what is going on and how we are going to treat it.
Outstanding, as usual! Long-time patient. I wouldn't see anyone else and would gladly recommend him to friends and family alike!
He's the best!
Excellent doc - efficient, knowledge, and friendly.
Everything went quickly and well. I have noting to criticize.
Pleasant, addressed the problem quickly. Very positive experience.
Dr. Srivastava was professional, caring, and knowledgeable. I have a complicated medical history that makes treatment options limited and h.e addressed all options and answered all my questions. It was a positive experience.
Excellent : great bedside manner and knowledge base
Awesome, super friendly. Definitely knows his stuff.
I highly recommend Dr. Srivastava and his office staff.
Excellent doc. Immediate diagnosis and when my insurance company was creating unneccesary problems, he resolved it immediately.
Very professional and frank.
Dr. Shashank Srivastava is really good. He cares for his patients well.
Dr. Srivastava continues to be the kindest, most thorough, and patient-focused medical provider that I know. Another exceptional appointment today!
Dr. Srivastava is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He's been great every time I've seen him. Highly recommended.
Dr. Srivastava was knowledgeable and really personable! I've had problems with athletes foot and nail fungus for years and it's something I'm pretty self conscious about, but he made me feel comfortable and he really knew his stuff. The staff was nice and welcoming and he really took time to ask about the history of my issues and really explained treatment options and processes well. I have been to many foot doctors and i have to say this was my best experience by far! Went during a work lunch break and I was in and out in 40 minutes with first-time paperwork and all.
Very personable and thorough. A+++
He was very pleasant and thorough .
Good parking, cheery staff, nice doctor with great bedside manner.
competent and attentive . useful intellect efficient
I went in with a lot of pain hoping for a bit of compassion. My experience in a single word is 'cold'.
First time patient for Dr. Srivastava and i have to say i am very pleased with the service. I ended up having a different procedure that i wanted but i expected it based on my condition and he made sure i was comfortable for the procedure. ( needles are just not my thing). Dr. Srivastava made sure i was feeling okay before, during and after by small talk trying to distract me from the procedure and answered all of my questions. The front desk staff were polite and my wait time was about 10 minutes and that included filling out paperwork. I will defiantly come back for future needs and refer him to others.
Fantastic as always! The best in his field, and one of the kindest practitioners I have ever met!
He was very open, honest and direct. Everything you want in a doctor!
He has a great bed side manner. Very knowledgeable and to the point. I didn't spend a lot of time waiting which I appreciated. I've seen him twice and I've had no issue.
He s very knowledgeable and kind. He explains what he is doing and why Great visit.
Great experience. No nonsense professional advice.
Dr Srivastava was very efficient and straightforward. After I asked him about two separate foot issues I face as a runner, he even asked at the end of my visit if I had any other questions or foot issues - very generous with his time.
He's great! I've seen him several times and he's always friendly, comforting, and explains everything very clearly.
The whole staff and the doctor were very polite and efficient and treat the patients with lot of care. He had the right diagnosis and treated me right away!
Both the staff and Dr. Srivastava were very friendly. I went in as a new patient with an injured foot. Xrays, diagnosis, treatment, and follow up scheduled all within 30 minutes. I didn't feel rushed or anything, they were just that good.
He and his staff very kind, honest,
Outstanding as usual! The best in the DC Metro area! Have been his patient for many years.
Dr Shashank was AMAZING. Wait time minimal for my first appointment. The gals at the front desk were kind and very helpful. Dr. Shashank did an initial diagnosis and gave me time to ask questions and I did not feel sped along at all. Very thankful to have had his services.
Great dicier - very thorough and had great bedside manner for my freaked out kid. On the downside, the wait was 57 minutes! From my perspective, unacceptable. I'd recommend, if you're time crunched like I always am, to call ahead and see how backed up they are before you subject yourself to an hour wait in a cramped lobby area.
Dr. Srivastava was friendly and very helpful. The wait wasn't long at all and the front desk staff was great.
Office staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. Srivastava was nice and knowledgable--explained everything in detail. Wait time was maybe 2 minutes!
Dr. Srivastava performed a bunionectomy on my right foot and I have seen him for several post-op appointments following. He is very professional and caring with great bedside manner. Would highly recommend.
Dr. Srivastava explained throughly about what is happening to my heels. He gave me a complete diagnosis and treatment schedule. He's professional and detailed. The office staff is professional and proficient in handling patients.
I thought the wait time of 45 minutes just to see the doctor for 5 minutes was a little excessive.
Fantastic, as always!!
When I met with Dr. Srivastava I felt rushed and dismissed. His main goal seemed to be getting me out rather than listening to my concerns or anything else I tried to say. I have been dealing with severe pain caused by heel spurs/plantar fascia. The pain has worsened considerably in the past couple of months affecting my quality of life and function. He ended the less than 10 minute appointment by saying, "It's not that bad". Personally, I prefer a doctor that spends time listening and addressing my concerns in addition to not minimizing my pain.
Great visit Fast, efficient and friendly Highly recommend
I only got to see him for a few minutes. He explained that he wanted to start with the least invasive treatment, which I appreciated. My problem however, has not gone away, so I am going to have to make another trip to see him, and take one of the other treatment options.
It was a little quicker than I would have hoped and I felt that he was a little dismissive of my concerns. However, he was relatively thorough in his explanations. I work as an executive at a healthcare company so I generally expect a higher level of service from healthcare professionals. Okay but not great. The office was also not very nice and in my exam room there was a nail clipping on the counter when I walked in. The convenience of this location was great but, I don't think I will be back.
Very pleasant. Dr. Srivastava is very knowledgeable and very easygoing personality.
He's efficient, but concerned. Staff is especially nice!!!
So helpful and gave me great advice
Great! Super nice and personable. Straightforward and clear.
Very warm and professional person. He got to the main issue right away
I have been a Patient of Dr. S. for MANY years! (In fact, think I may have been one of his first when he took-over for the long-respected Dr. Michael Theodoulou...who was a "legend" among DC Podiatry.) Dr. S. filled-in with exceptional medical care, kindness, and true professionalism. Dr. S. is simply the best!
He is nice, knowledgable, sincere.
He wouldn't treat my warts topically and instead chose to give me an off-label treatment. It may have worked, but not to fully kill the plantar warts. Going to a dermatologist instead.
This was a first appointment with Dr. Srivastava. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and also warm and easy to talk with. A good listener. K.S.
I has gone to a different doctor 6 months ago and got a shot in my foot that was so pain full that I didn't go back. This time the shot didn't hurt and left feeling confident that my foot would be better.
Dr. S and staff was great. I had to have a surgical procedure and he was very professional and calming. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Srivastava is an excellent doctor. I would recommend him to my family and friends.
He's very personable, friendly, helpful, and efficient.
I thought he was great. Knowledgeable and practical.
this was my second visit, a pre-op for surgery on my neuroma. The doctor is very prompt, takes the time to explain things and answers my questions, just a good bedside manner!
I really liked Dr Srivastava! I work in healthcare and most of the time I'm appalled at the way doctors and their respective staff treat patients... but I was extremely impressed with all aspects of my visit. If you fill out your forms through zocdoc, you get back to your room super fast. I had literally just taken off my shoes and socks and sat down on the table when the doc walked in. He was very friendly and I felt like he really listened to me and we made a treatment plan we're both comfortable with. Definitely recommend!
Professional and quick.
Very pleasant, informative, capable. I needed a simple surgical procedure and was anxious about pain and possible complications. Dr. Srivastava was very assuring, informative, and efficient. He also was careful to take all precautions against pain. I highly recommend him.
Wait was a bit long but receptionist apologized for it.
I felt that Dr. Srivastava was excellent! He was very timely and did not force me to wait for long periods in the room while he tended to other patients. His bedside manor was great. I was able to speak to him about my issue and he very quickly listed everything we could do and gave me a few options. Once I had decided what I thought was best be happily obliged. I would surely recommend him to others.
He was very thorough in his diagnosis. He listened to me and learned about my symptoms before he began. In my opinion, this allowed him accurately diagnosis and treat my foot symptoms.
My daughter was seen right away for a toenail issue that was caused from a bad pedicure. By the time we arrived home my daughters toe was feeling better already.
Awesome awesome awesome. Super efficient, smart, and friendly guy.
Dr. Srivastava was very nice, knowledgable, and flexible in regards to what I wanted to try as far as treatment options. He was friendly and professional. My only issue was that the wait was more than I expected (maybe 20 minutes after my appointment time), but that is the only reason this was not a 5-star review across the board.
Doctor and staff were great, but the downtown DC office was old, didn't feel clean, and the walls were so thin that I heard all about another patient's foot fungus.
Very professional yet friendly. Vwry informative and helpful; nspired confidence and resolved my problem immediately.
Very knowledgeable of all areas of podiatry.
I really enjoyed my visit with Dr. Srivastava, but I wish that the wait wasn't so long. Apparently there was an issue of double booking, so it might be a one time glitch, but wanted to flag it.
Although the visit was ok. He was quick to insist on a special insert that would help my case. I was asked an advance for the insert. It's been three months no sign of the insert. Very sad.
