About Dr. Christen Lonas
Dr. Christen Lonas is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ABFAS) in Foot Surgery. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. She received her medical degree from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in the Chicago area. She completed her podiatric surgical residency at Genesis Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
She has practiced for 21 years in Winchester, Virginia, and has been an active staff member at Winchester Medical Center during that time. Prior to this, she practiced for 3 years in Ocala, Florida.
Her hobbies include tennis and running, and she completed the St. Louis marathon at age 14. She is also an equestrian, and grew up participating in Pony Club. I had a 10:00 AM appointment but was delayed by a serious traffic accident and arrived at 10:15. I called the office at 9:45 to notify them I would be late and was told to still come in. After checking in, I was not called back until around 11:00. The doctor eventually came in and had an excellent bedside manner. She was professional, kind, and I appreciated the care she provided. I understand that medical offices can run behind, so the wait itself was not my main concern. However, around noon while I was still waiting in the exam room, an assistant came in and seemed surprised I was there and began laughing. When I asked if they had forgotten about me, he continued laughing and backed out of the room saying the doctor would be in shortly. The interaction felt unprofessional and disrespectful. The doctor herself was great, but the experience with the staff could have been handled more professionally.

My first big procedure and the staff was very understanding and gave extra support to calm my anxiety. Overall, my only regret would be not booking sooner because I have no complaints about my experience at all.

Offices are in convenient location. I was able to get a same day appointment. The staff were friendly and efficient. The doctor was knowledgeable and helpful and seemed genuinely concerned about my foot issue.

I had a horrible experience at the appt. Walking from the exam room to the x-ray area I fell. The fall was because of a paper “booty” they had me wear; my foot slid out and I first fell into the X-ray tech- who made no attempt to assist or try to stabilize me before I collapsed on my knee. Along with the tech, there were two others in the hallway. At no time did either say anything or attempt to help me up even when I said that’s all I needed- I’m not even talking about giving a hand up or anything like that. My foot was caught under the accordion door and I was trying to get it out of the way & no one even had the sense to hold it. I was basically physically okay I thought, but the whole experience was embarrassing & I was just so angry at the complete lack of human decency by these people. This was ridiculous. I would show any stranger on the street more care than these people displayed.
Also, messy/cluttered exam room & back hallway.
Dr. Lonas was ok, but not worth the experience.
