Sheldon Genack is an experienced and detail-oriented ear, nose, and throat doctor specializing in head and neck surgery as well as facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Genack is currently serving his patients in Hewlett, NY. He is the division chief of otolaryngology – head and neck surgery and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway.
Dr. Genack has staff privileges at the Long Island Jewish Hospital and the South Nassau Communities Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Dr. Genack is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, the Long Island Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons, Brooklyn and Long Island Chapter.
Dr. Genack received his medical education from the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse. He began his postdoctoral training with a general surgery internship at the Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Genack completed his residency at the SUNY Health Science Center in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery. He completed two fellowships in facial plastic surgery and reconstructive surgery in Pittsburgh and Chicago.

I do not doubt that this doctor is good at what he does, but the arrogant responses to my questions and own personal knowledge of my body were highly unnecessary. I went for a deviated septum, to which I knew I had but I don't recall if I was ever diagnosed or not as I went as a child and my mother told me that's what the doctor had said. His response, "well, how would you know that? You wouldn't know that." Um? What? Needless to say, I never went back again. His experience is reputable, but I don't trust anyone who does not take their time and treat me with respect.

The doctor was thorough, he performed a nasal endoscopy and skin allergy test right in the office during our appointment - so I didn't need to schedule separate appointments for that.

You can tell that Dr. Genack knows what he is talking about. He is a true expert in his field and was able to accurately diagnose and recommend treatment options for my issue within minutes of walking into the exam room. He can sometimes come off as tough, but you can tell that it is because of his commitment to providing care of superlative quality, even if his recommendations are hard to hear. His staff acts with professionalism and integrity, and even recognized and remembered me when I came in for my follow-up visit. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing an ENT!
