About Dr. Sonya Kenkare
Dr. Sonya Kenkare is a highly skilled and experienced dermatologist who offers exceptional dermatological care at IDI-Hinsdale-Oak Park in Hinsdale, IL. She has a solid educational foundation as she holds a medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a residency in dermatology at the University of Chicago.
With hospital affiliations at Rush University Medical Center, Dr. Kenkare remains at the forefront of dermatological advancements. She is also board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
She is passionate about medical and cosmetic dermatology and looks forward to returning to her roots in Dupage county and forming long term relationships with her patients. She aims to improve quality of life and patient self confidence.
Her clinical interests include skin cancer, eczema, psoriasis, acne and hidradenitis suppurativa, among many other conditions. She also enjoys helping patients feel their best with facial rejuvenation and promotes a refreshed and natural appearing aesthetic.
Dr. Kenkare offers medical and cosmetic skin surgery, Botox, filler, microneedling, laser and a variety of other treatment modalities to meet patient needs.
Dr. Kenkare is also very involved in global medicine and has done dermatology mission trips to India, Zambia and Kenya. She is a visiting faculty member for the University of Global Health Equity in northern Rwanda bringing dermatology education to medical students in east Africa. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kenkare enjoys writing, playing tennis, painting and spending time with her family.

Dr.Kenkare was wonderful. She explained things to me no other derm has about how my issues were related. It really gave me clarity about the approach we are going to take and next steps. I look forward to working with her and her staff who are very knowledgeable and caring.

I think for paying a co-pay so high when my brother went in there all she did was just look and say its fine. You’re gonna get more as you get older. I think she should’ve scanned his arms just to be on the safe side. I don’t recommend the doctor at all. I think it was very unprofessional.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this doctor. She seems knowledgeable about dermatology, but the skin check was so fast. I've gone to dermatologists before where it seems they check more thoroughly and use a magnify glass on certain moles. This appointment felt a little rushed.
