Qualifications and Experience
Stefan C. Weiss, MD MHSc FAAD is Medical Director of the Weiss Skin Institute, a clinical research center and private dermatology practice in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale Florida. He went on to graduate Yale University cum laude and then the Duke University School of Medicine. During medical school, Dr. Weiss participated in the Clinical Research Training Program at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) where he completed a fellowship in Bioethics and earned his Masters Degree in Clinical Research (MHSc). As part of the Dermatology Branch of the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Weiss conducted one of the first studies to investigate the impact of psoriasis on quality of life. Dr. Weiss was a resident in Dermatology at the Stanford University School of Medicine. He was actively involved in the Stanford clinical research unit, and served as a sub-investigator on several clinical trials that evaluated novel therapies for the treatment of psoriasis. His efforts resulted in numerous publications and presentations at major medical meetings. In his second year of residency, Dr. Weiss received the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery resident-research award. A board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Weiss is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Diplomate of both the American Board of Dermatology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He holds an adjunct appointment on the faculty of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. In his free time, he enjoys sailing, kayaking, skiing, and diving.
