About Dr. Stephen Becker
Dr. Stephen Becker believes in restoring patients to their optimal health in the shortest possible period of time. Taking a holistic approach to treatment and utilizing the most advanced chiropractic and physical therapy techniques, he develops personalized programs to support patients' health, including weight training, aerobic activities, and nutritional counseling. "One of the techniques we are most excited about is the Graston technique, which is like a massage on steroids." Graston technique is not painful but utilizes smooth instruments to find and eliminate tension in muscles that cannot be treated with hands alone. Neck, back, posture, foot, shoulder, ankle, and knee pain are treated successfully with this technique. In addition, Dr. Becker utilizes non-surgical spinal decompression with the DRX9000, successfully treating sciatica and low back pain stemming from herniated and bulging discs. Many patients have avoided surgery. Becker Spine also incorporates massage, acupuncture, and traditional medical care when appropriate.
Dr. Becker began his professional career in the heart of NYC, where he built one of the largest chiropractic wellness centers in midtown Manhattan. In 2010, he transitioned his career to New Jersey, opening the Becker Spine and Sports Institute. This practice was developed as a facility for people of all ages, dedicated to the treatment of pain and its underlying causes.
Dr. Stephen Becker completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Albany before earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the National University of Health Sciences. He also completed an internship at the Chicago General Health Center. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
