Very good doctor
The office didn't have my referral and made me call my primary doctor which delayed things quite a bit. The doctor did not have good bedside manner at all, he was nice but didn't actually explain anything he was doing. He immediately started sticking things in my ear and up my nose without telling me what was happening, which was a bit unnerving.
I had impacted ear wax and he was fast and really nice. They did a hearing test and everything was fine. The people who work in this office are really nice. The only thing I would recommend having a turn off your cell phone sign in the waiting room. Two people had rather loud cell phones that kept ringing. Otherwise this is a great office and I'm definitely going back.
Very good visit. He took care of the problem. However he wasn't very gentle when it came to removing wax build up. He did cause me some pain. He is very pleasant but very fast and does not give you time to ask questions if need be.
I went into the office for two problems. One that i was concerned about turned out not to be a big deal and one that i wasn't concerned about turned into additional testing which I'm glad he discovered. The office called to confirm my appointment an hour before the appointment, which i thought was odd. They also requested my Insurance ID # on that call. I didn't have any problems with insurance once i got to the office.
Amazing doctor, very patient and knowlegeable. I highly recommend Dr.Steven Alexander
Dr Alexander the Great, his treatment was outstanding.
Dr. Alexander personally is a good doctor. I do wish he would rush a little bit less in visitations. He's always seeming to be on the run. What made my experience a terrible one, are the receptionist. They have canceled my appointments COUNTLESS times, made mistakes on my appt times. I was on my way to my appt THREE times and they canceled on me. They even lied and told me that my mother told them I wasn't going to make it. When I have a recording that says otherwise. The last offense that did it for me is when I was scheduled to see a Voice therapist, they made a mistake with my appointment and now i'm on a waiting list. (They also made a mistake and scheduled me for a hearing test!! I was there for vocal nodes. After telling them various times they finally admitted that they made ANOTHER mistake.) This was the last straw, this office needs to do better. I've given them so many chances and have been burned each time. I'm seeing another doctor.
Use was very informative and made me feel comfortable. He was very professional, made me comfortable, about what he was doing. I would definitely refer him to family and friends.
Went in for a minor ear infection. He was very polite. Simply told me what was the problem and I was on my way. Would definitely come back/refer him.
I got to the office a few minutes before my scheduled appointment. The office administration wasn't too friendly. Not really mean, but not extremely welcoming either. As I was filling out my paper work, Dr. Alexander came out to ask one of the staff something. I guess she did not understand what he was saying, and he took a sarcastic tone and was kind of abrasive toward her. I kind of took that as a red flag, but finished filling out my paper work and was eventually called in to see the Dr. He introduced himself to me, and asked me why I was visiting. Half way through my response, he shouted out to one of the staff to come in the room, cutting me off and seemingly uninterested with my response. I guess there was supposed to be an instrument in the room that wasn't there, so he asked her in a very condescending manner to make sure that this instrument was in the room the next time. At this point, I thought it was very unprofessional the way he was speaking to his staff and it made me feel uneasy. He looked up my nose and cleaned out my ears, but did not inform my what he was doing while he was doing it. Kind of like just shoving instruments in my ear and nose. I am already used to doing this with all of my allergy problems, but for someone who is new this can be a bit off putting. After he was done, he told me that I needed sinus surgery. He didn't really seem concerned with any of the medicine I was taking, didn't offer me any new medication in the mean time, and didn't seem interested in renewing any of my current allergy and asthma medication either. Overall, the visit felt rushed and I had to stop him from leaving the room for being done with a couple of follow up questions I had; he seemed uninterested with answering my questions and gave me brief, quick, generic responses. The doctor he recommended I see for the surgery was out of my network, so that wasn't any help either. Maybe he was just having a bad day or behind on schedule, but I left this visit uncomfortable and unsatisfied and would not recommend this doctor to anyone that asked. Hopefully, reviews like this will clue him in to improving his bedside manner and taking more time to see what could be done for his patients.
Excellent MD. Fast and thorough
Very nice and helpful , quick diagnose and treatment, definitely recommend dr.Alexander.
Knowledgeable, professional and listens to his patients concerns.
Excellent care was given to me. He didn't rush me, and as soon as I explained to him he was on the ball. Great doctor.
Dr. Alexander was friendly and professional. I was nervous at first, but he made me feel comfortable...didn't hurt. His office staff was nice. Would definitely recommend him!
The staff is very friendly and efficient. Place seems to be very clean. As soon I was called in, it went very fast. The procedure was excellent. I definitively Would recommend it.
Was disappointed that after months of suffering, my visit only lasted 3 minutes at best. A CT scan was ordered and office staff called to tell me it was normal. No further recommendations, no plan for me. Just continue dealing with my pain, I guess.
Dr. Alexander was professional and easy to deal with. Very friendly and efficient. I will go back.
Dr. Alexander was great! Saw him 6 months ago, provided me with the proper diagnosis and was very funny and cheery in his attitude. Would definitely recommend him to others!
Excellent service, answered all my questions as well as provide the service I was looking for. Help put my mind at ease. Treated my problem & provide the best solution.
Dr. Alexander was extremely professional, to the point, and knew exactly how to fix my issue. Took care of it on the spot. My actual time with him was less than 10 minutes, but he was thorough and didn't make it feel rushed at all.
Doctor Alexander and his staff were awesome problem solvers!! Friendly and empathetic people who found a solution to our serious problem!...ELEVATOR OUT OF ORDER!! Pistilli management (owners? and building managers?) however were totally unaware of who makes use of the offices in their building. The elevator was out of order!! Sign on elevator door said elevator would be out of order until 12am ?? AM?? should maybe have been PM?? Anyway, at 1245PM it was still not working and as we left at 130 it was STILL out of order.. Doctor Alexander has an office on the third floor and my mother who was the patient is confined to a wheelchair. I had called prior to appointment to make sure the office was wheelchair accessible. UNACCEPTABLE from management when their tenants are doctors who have sick patients who cannot walk up the stairs. SHAME ON YOU PISTILLI AND THANKS SO MUCH TO DR ALEXANDER AND HIS STAFF WHO SAVED THE DAY.
Fast and to the point!
Dr. Alexander did a thorough exam and explained testing and findings clearly. Prescribed medication and set a follow-up visit to reevaluate me in a week. No wait in the office: Appointment was on time. I recommend him to all those needing an ENT in our area.
Filled w/ very professional people. I've been a patient for 2 years now.
I was well prepared because I followed the advice of the Doctor who had treated me for the same problem a few years before.
Dr. Alexander was great, and very professional.
The entire experience was fantastic. I was a little nervous but Dr. Alexander was patient, to the point, and friendly.
Excellent and well qualified!!!
Dr Alexander and all of the staff members were attentive and friendly. I was in and out very quickly, and the dr was very knowledgeable and was quickly able to diagnose and treat me.
Been going to him for a couple of years from a stubborn bloody nose from my 8 year old to correct my husband sleep apnea, always happy with the results.
Provided great service! Will def. recommend.
My Visit with Dr. Steven Alexander was great. I was seen right away he answered my questions and concerns. I will continue to see him when necessary!!
Dr. Alexander was very nice, very efficient and on point! You can tell he knows exactly what he is doing! I would go back if I had to but with his methodology I might never have to go back! Thanks Doc!
Long wait time for a very short and rushed office visit. The front desk seems to be more dizzy than I am
My Mother in Law Anna is in her eighty and he is one of the nicest Doctors my Husband and I take her to see. He has a lot of patience.
Dr Alexander is really easy to work with and spends time with the patient to understand what's wrong.
Nice receptionists, medical assistants and doctor!! Highly recommend
Dr. Alexander was great! He took his time to listen to my concerns about my son and addressed them accordingly. Nice office and office staff ! Will recommend
Dr. Alexander is very caring about his patients and really helps my son.
Too early to give an accurate review of Dr. Alexander. Have to go back for a test and then wait for the results, but so far I am happy.
I am usually not a fan of doctors in general but Dr. Alexander was great. Knowledgable, personable, and took the time to explain what he was checking for and showing me the video of throat. Highly recommend. He was fantastic.
Very thorough and impressive.
I wish more doctors were like Dr Alexander. He was very nice and responsive but also informative and seemed to care that I understood the detailed reasons and treatment of my ENT problem.
It was great. The staff was polite, and the doctor listened to me carefully and was very considerate of my concerns. He even let me look at the video of my vocal cords.
He was okay, my visit felt a little rushed and he didn't offer any referral or treatment options - just said it wasn't vertigo and the exam was over.
Lovely bed side manner. Not an alarmist.! Highly Recommended~!
He was great with my son, and explained what he was going to do and why. Definitely recommend.
Dr. Alexander was extremely pleasant and put me at ease right away - I would not hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.
Very good except they need to accept ZocDoc paperwork.
Does not explain much what my situation was. I wanted to hear more about my condition not just to get some drugs prescribed.
He was to the point, very nice, professional, and honest. I would recommend and return for any other ENT needs.
Great, friendly, and personable. Made me feel very at-ease despite having a small procedure that made me quite nervous!
I felt he did not take the time with me when I was asking questions about my hearing problem. I did not like that.
I highly recommend Dr. Steven Alexander. I went in to get my ear right ear checked after I started to notice that the pressure was off and that some loss of hearing started to occur. He diagnosed my symptoms very quickly, prescribed the right medicine to help fix the situation and gave me other options in regard to my ear pressure problems. I will be seeing him from now on in regard to all of my ENT problems.
Great doctor, could use a bigger waiting room I was feeling clostophobic.
Great ENT in the Astoria area.
I am kicking myself for not seeing Dr Alexander months ago. I have been battling severe sinus problems and kept putting off the inevitable. He treated me four different ways and has covered every base possible for my issues. I highly recommend him to anyone that needs to see an ENT specialist.
Its a pleasant visit. It didnt take too long before they called me. The clinic is nice and clean and the staff are very nice. It is highly recommended.
Dr Alexander was very professional. Clearly explained my options and was very friendly.
Worked out great .
My issue with the 30th Avenue office is the misfiling and misinformation I received. This is the second time this office couldn't locate my file and delayed my appointment time (My appt was for 5:00pm). I didn’t get to see the doctor until 6:00pm, and the office wasn’t busy. Once they located my file a patient who came in after me was seen before me. Why would the office not have the patients’ files ready if the appointment was confirmed? Secondly, the office always asks for your insurance ID card to confirm your eligibility and during this visit I was advised that I had a $1,200.00 deductible which has not been met yet??? I asked the young lady at the desk how this was possible and she advised because of Obamacare??? I didn't question the medical assistant at first and she advised I could pay a portion of my deductible with this visit so while they were still trying to locate my file I was going to go to their 4th floor office to pay for my deductible and co-pay of $35.00. But I asked for my Insurance Card and decided to confirm the $1,200.00. When I called my insurance company the insurance representative advised I do not have to meet my deductible since it is an office visit and asked to speak to the medical assistant. I passed the phone to the medical assistant. After the medical assistant spoke to the insurance representative, no apology was offered for the mistake I was about to pay for! I’m wondering how many other patients were told they had to pay for a deductible because of Obamacare??
Staffs are excellent. Doc is professional. Should explain the problem more elaborately. and in a timely manner. I think he is in a hurry for the next patient. He should take more time to examine the patient.
Very happy, my issues were addressed quickly and properly, various tests were given to see if my hearing was affected, I would send my family to this doctor.
I'm really happy that I chose Dr Steven Alexander,Is Friendly and professional,I'll comeback for sure. I highly recommend ...
Excellent professional and courteous staff. Everyone should have their ears cleaned regularly, feels great.
He was excellent, great staff and fast service, will recommend to all relatives and friends.
Great, prompt service!
Excellent Doctor, very attentive. Highly recommended.
I had a bad case of the cold, and Dr. Alex was a no-nonsense guy. He told right away that there was a no true cure for the work, and that I would have to let my immune system battle it out; and that resting is the best way to ket your immune system work its fullest. He also recommend a nasal spray that made bearing the cold significantly better. I think it might've even done the trick! (I got better less than 5 days after seeing him.)
Great doc Answered all my questions
Good doctor, professional, fast and friendly. The office received my appointment during night time via zocdoc and confirmed the same morning. I got phone confirmation; the waiting time was less than 30 minutes. I highly recommend Dr. Alexander!
It was great !!!!
He was excellent and kind and knew what he was doing. highly recomended
I was extremely impressed with my visit to Dr. Alexander's office. I hardly waited any time at all. He made enough small talk to be friendly, but not so much that I fell behind on my day. Most importantly - this was a follow-up appointment - he checked me out right away, was very encouraging, and very clear with me in terms of what I need to do going forward to take care of myself. He took the time to explain exactly what we were dealing with, exactly what the options were for addressing it, and why he was recommending one of the options in particular. I had no problem following what he said or understanding what I should do, and he made a point of making sure I could afford my prescription. It was pretty much everything you want from a doctor's appointment: fast, friendly, informative, clear, and considerate of financial circumstances.
Definitely a good doctor: very professional. Checkup wasn't expensive, and now my ear is clean as a whistle! Recommended!
He sent us out in less than three minutes. Wasn't interested in hearing out or discussing my health issue.
I made my appointment for 3:50pm. They called the following day to ask me to come earlier. I said I would come right from work, and get there just after 3:30pm. They then called the day of my appointment to ask if I could come earlier. Seriously? Then, I sat and waited in the office until 4pm. While waiting, I was listening to the two receptionists discussing the fact that they don't make eye contact with patients because then the patients just want to keep talking to them. The doctor had little to no bedside manner. The reason for my visit was a chronic runny nose. He looked in my ears and mouth and did NOT look in my nose. He then suggested I use a nasal spray, which can be highly addictive, 365 days a year. I had to ask HIM if I should go see an allergist, he wasn't even going to recommend that. I will not go back to this doctor. He very clearly is a doctor who just wants to rush through his appointments an get out of the door as early as possible on a Friday.
their office never recieved my appointment and to wait one hour to be seen! Thanks for nothing!
The wait time is really less than 10 minutes, no complaint about this appointment at all.
Extremely empathetic and caring guy. I highly recommend Dr. Alexander.
very helpful. he listened and explained things well.
I would definitely recommend him to anyone who's needs an ENT specialist ..
Really great experience. Highly recommended.
It was very nice
it was a good visit.
Very nice doctor and staff.
Pleasant and of course a very good doctor. I have no more problem with my ears. Good job doctor!
Dr.Alexander was very caring and tentive . i was very pleased with the service
I found my visit went very well Dr Alexander was prompt and whilst not exactly chatty answered all my question and gave me plenty of time. The office was clean most of the staff were very nice however apart from the lady who performed my hearing test everyone else seemed down maybe having a bad day, not rude or loud just a "down feeling" in the office The young lady on the 4th floor who sent me down to the 3rd floor was friendly, the African American lady who greeted me on the 3rd floor while not rude at all thought hard of speaking maybe she was having a bad day, All in all I was happy with my visit and happy with Dr Alexander and will continue my visits. Hope this helps
Very poor that's all I gotta say
He seemed rushed and uninterested, but did help me get what I needed within the restraints of my insurance plan. I called back for more information and have not received a response yet (I called Monday and today is Thursday -- I'll update this if i hear back before tomorrow).
Treated me right away and made efforts to help me get the medicine I needed at an affordable price.
it was good. easy parking no waiting.....very satisfied
Very Nice Doctor! Will be using him again when necessary in the future.
Doctor is good but waiting was longer. Doctor's behave was highly recommended.
Excellent! It was my first visit, and i was out in 30 minutes. I had a problem in one ear and he took care of it then tested my hearing to make sure it was all good.
Dr. Alexander was very thorough during my visit. All of my questions were answered and I was seen in a reasonable time frame when coming in for my appointment.
Dr. Alexander was very easy to talk to and I felt comfortable telling him my issues. The desk staff wasn't as good. Felt like the woman wasn't paying attention to what she was writing. Wrote my name two different ways on two different forms. Would still go back to see him but staff care could be better.
Cold! Didn't seen like he really was in a mood to make his patient comfortable. I felt like a machine being worked on. He didn't talk much either.
