“My GP had not been aggressive in helping me on the diagnostic pathway and that was why I came to see Dr. Lam. He took me seriously and helped me work toward diagnosis which lead to treatment, and recovery. If Dr. Lam hadn’t been so active, and flexible in appointment times (Which was a big concern for me) my symptoms may have gone on longer and my disease would have progressed more. About Dr. Herman Lam
Dr. Herman P. Lam is an Otolaryngologist and facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, one of the oldest medical specialties in the country. Otolaryngologists are physicians uniquely trained in the surgical and medical treatment of patients with disorders and diseases of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck. They are commonly referred to as ENT physicians.
Dr. Lam is no stranger to high standards, having been educated at Cornell University and earning his Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University. He completed a highly competitive residency in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at West Virginia University. Following residency, he was among an elite group selected for a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Mittelman Plastic Surgery Center.
One important element of a great physician is keeping abreast of current research and even conducting some firsthand. Dr. Lam has been involved in research throughout his academic career. He has presented at national and international medical meetings and has been published in prestigious and internationally recognized medical journals.
Dr. Lam’s philosophy is to strive to give patients a natural, non-surgical look. He feels that as a Facial Plastic Surgeon, it is imperative to be a diligent student of facial anatomy. This allows him to guide patients through a process of how to maximize aesthetics with both surgical and non-surgical procedures.
