Dr. Susana Gonzalez is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Attending Physician at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She is board certified in Gastroenterology and completed additional training in advanced endoscopy. She received her B.A. from the University of Chicago. After receiving her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, she completed her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship training at the New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center where she also served as Chief Gastroenterology Fellow. She then completed an additional fellowship in Interventional Endoscopy also at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. She served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital for four years and then worked at Gotham Medical Associates prior to joining the faculty at Weill Cornell. Dr. Gonzalez is dedicated to her patients and her research is aimed at using endoscopy to detect early gastrointestinal cancers. She has published original research and authored numerous publications. She was the recipient of a prestigious NIH grant to study endoscopic imaging devices in the detection of gastric cancer.
