Dr. Donelle Cummings is a board-certified Gastroenterologist specializing in advanced endoscopic procedures and comprehensive digestive care. He provides expert evaluation and treatment for a wide range of digestive conditions, including acid reflux, inflammatory bowel diseases, colorectal cancer screenings, biliary tract disease, and pancreatic diseases.
His procedural expertise includes endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Dr. Cummings takes a patient-centered approach, ensuring that each individual receives thorough, personalized care tailored to their needs.
Dr. Cummings earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University before completing his internal medicine residency at The Cleveland Clinic. He then pursued a fellowship in Gastroenterology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, followed by an Advanced Endoscopy fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Prior to joining East Side Medical PC, he was an attending Gastroenterologist at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York, NY, where he treated a diverse patient population.

Had a very good experience with Dr. Cummings! I filled out forms via Zocdoc and also via the patient portal, and STILL had to fill out forms at the office. I appreciated Dr. Cummings taking time to review my chart prior to coming in to speak with me. I initially thought the office staff was standoffish (based on a dismissive tone when I called to ask a clarifying question, and during the first few minutes of being in the office), but the individual ended up being very nice. I am happy I chose to make an appointment with Dr. Cummings on the reviews here!

Dr. Cummings and Erika (or Erica) were super nice and very detailed during my appointment. Answered a lot of questions I had, and I felt very safe in the environment. I usually get nervous meeting a new doctor, but they completely helped me feel heard and was swift with their next step with my treatment. I was getting ready to leave because it was going on 60 minutes of waiting, but then the doctor came and he could not have been more apologetic or more polite. He is a lovely man, very attentive and full of knowledge.
