Dr. Susmita Hazarika is a board-eligible psychiatrist who completed her psychiatry residency at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, North Carolina. She grew up in the northeastern part of India and earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Gauhati Medical College. She also completed a psychiatry residency at Silchar Medical College before moving to the US. Dr. Hazarika has expertise in treating patients with various psychopathologies, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, and behavioral issues associated with other medical conditions. She believes in adopting individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient based on their presentation and goals. Her approach combines evidence-based psychopharmacology with supportive, cognitive behavioral, and individualized psychotherapy. She has a special interest in women’s mental health issues, including peripartum and postpartum mood disorders. Patients can expect a secure, nonjudgmental environment where they are encouraged to take an active role in achieving their desired goals.

Doctor never sent video call link or showed up. Called the office twice, was put on indefinite hold, wasting hours on an appointment that never happened. Awful experience

The office never confirmed my appointment. I called three times and each time was told someone would get back to me and never did. I spent 20 minutes filling out the paperwork so now this office has all my information and refuses to help schedule me for an appointment. I strongly don’t recommend going here if you’re a new patient

Truly one of the worst therapy experiences- she was judgment and made me feel embarrassed to ask for help. She smirked and was condensing. She used phrases like “you should be able to do that by your age” when referring to my personal struggle with maintaining good hygiene due to my depression

Dr. Hazarika was very understanding and receptive. She was extremely informative about my diagnosis and medication to help with the symptoms of my disorder. I highly recommend this doctor to anyone seeking help with their mental disposition.
