About Suzanna Markstein
Suzanna Markstein is a board-certified women’s health and adult nurse practitioner who joined Downtown Women OB/GYN in August 2022. She earned her Master’s degree in Adult and Women’s Health Nursing from Columbia University in 2008. Prior to joining Downtown Women OB/GYN, she practiced at Planned Parenthood. Suzanna provides care for well-woman visits, diagnosis and treatment of vaginal infections, STI testing and treatment, contraceptive consultations, and management of basic gynecological conditions.

One of the best experiences I've ever had at a doctor's office. Suzanna was extremely warm, kind, and attentive. I was terrified coming in for my first appointment and she made a point of making sure I was comfortable and discussed what she was going to do before she do it. I recently had my first annual visit with Suzanna Markstein, and I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the experience was. The pap smear, which I have found extremely painful in the past with other providers, was completely pain-free. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled and gentle provider!

I was constantly turned away by another obgyn consultations for months and I finally had enough. I booked with her and was able to see her in less than two days and the appointment was amazing and we getting everything I requested done in less than two weeks. Absolutely phenomenal.

The office is nice and I didn't have any waiting time, I finished filling a short questionary of maybe 3 questions and they called my name. I was seen by Suzanna, she listened, answered all of my questions and gave me great advices too, she's really cool. This is my second time at this practice and so far it's been good. I definitely recommend this place

NP Markstein was great, and I liked her very much. I used to see another provider at this practice, who left, so I was nervous to see someone new, but she was perfect. This is a very busy practice so there is often a line to check in, etc. I usually have to fill in my complete medical history every time I come, which a litte tiresome given that I have been there many times. However, the providers are great.

I went for IUD removal. I had previously gone to an obgyn at Mount Sinai. Despite two attempts to remove the IUD (and a fair amount of pain) I was told I would most likely need surgery to remove it. I had an ultrasound to show there was no reason why it couldn’t be removed. Fast forward to today, where, rather than going to surgery I thought I’d try downtown women’s obgyn. It was a success - virtually no pain and super quick. Amazing experience and I felt completely at ease with Suzanna! Thoroughly recommend.
