Before I even got in to the room Dr. Powerman recognized I was injured and quickly began to examine my foot and then get my x-rays taken. She is very empathetic and has a great sense of humor, which really helps when you're receiving an injury diagnosis. Would definitely recommend her to others.
Wonderful doctor who has a genuine passion for my feet! Best experience at a doctor's office- hands down. She is stellar and will recommend to all my friends and family in NY. She even called me to explain a prescription would be mailed and to not be surprised when I only had one to pickup at my pharmacy. She truly goes above and beyond as she could have just had the front desk staff reach out to explain this. Great experience.

More about Dr. Tanya Powerman, DPM

“While studying sciences in college and preparing to go into a medical field, I found out about podiatry and became immediately fascinated by it. The range and the quality of the services that podiatrists provide keep expanding, and it is a wonderful challenge to keep up with all the surgical and highly technological advances in our profession. I like to think of feet and ankles as the foundation of a human body. As a podiatrist I protect, improve and nurture this foundation. I love seeing patients in every age group. I get to help every generation in a family with their foot problems – from grandma to a toddler. I very much enjoy treating children and teenagers. It is extraordinarily rewarding to me when they become adults and bring their own kids for checkups and treatment. I treat every patient as if they were my family. This may be a cliché, but I found sticking to this basic philosophy has helped me provide a consistently high level of care. Patients want relief from pain and greater comfort to sustain the hectic, active NYC lifestyle. I’m proud when we can deliver timely and expert conservative measures or a sophisticated surgical procedure. I have an exceptional memory for little facts and I like asking questions. As a result, I get to know my patients well. The details that they reveal often become crucial in making a diagnosis or helping them through a postoperative period. Having lived outside the United States has given me a certain facility with languages. I am fluent in Russian and French and am becoming very proficient in Spanish. Patients who seek surgical correction often come to us from abroad. I make every effort to ensure that they are well-informed and well cared for.

She was very informative and had a lovely sense of humor - really liked her. We waited long as it is post op day which was a bit unfortunate and maybe something worth checking before you book but otherwise I would highly recommend.
Extremely knowledgeable and great bedside manner
