About Dr. Tareq Kamal
I am committed to providing dedicated patient-centered surgical care while utilizing the most advanced surgical treatments for colorectal disease. My role as a colorectal surgeon and specialist is to help my patients understand their disease and navigate surgical treatment in a compassionate and safe manner with excellent outcomes.
Dr. Tareq Kamal is a board certified and fellowship trained colon and rectal surgeon. He specializes in the surgical treatment of colorectal disease.
Dr. Kamal earned his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group Hospitals Program in Chicago, Illinois and completed his Colorectal Surgery Fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Kamal’s clinical interests include Minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic colorectal surgery, anorectal surgery, colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening and polypectomy, transanal minimally-invasive surgery for rectal tumors (Robotic TAMIS), benign and malignant colorectal disease, colon and rectal cancer with sphincter preservation surgeries, diverticulitis, IBD (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), rectal prolapse, anorectal disease (hemorrhoids, anal fistula, fissure, anorectal abscess, anal cancer) and pilonidal disease.

My first visit with Dr Kamal was very comfortable and professional. It’s not exactly fun having to see a doctor about colorectal issues but he made it as painless as possible. All of the staff was very friendly and I was seen quickly.
