Getting to know Dr. Thomas Maples

We all want to live a life of purpose, meaning, and contentment. However, long-standing patterns of thought and behavior often compromise our ability to fully experience life. Struggles with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, and insecurity can interfere with our emotional wellbeing and connection with others, preventing us from engaging with the world and directing our own lives. My goal as a psychiatrist is to help you explore yourself in order to cultivate long-lasting growth and fulfillment. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern and completed my residency in psychiatry at The Mount Sinai Hospital. I further trained in Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis at Columbia University, which informs my approach to understanding the deeper experiences that shape identity and relationships. I work with clients to connect with their feelings and explore the experiences that have shaped their identities and their interactions with the people in their lives. Through this process, clients gain a greater understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their place in the world. I aim to create a safe, open therapeutic environment and work with patients of all racial identities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and religions. Please reach out when you are ready to begin a process of self-exploration and personal growth.
