About Dr. Tibor Gershkovich
I, Dr. Tibor Gershkovich, MD, have been practicing pediatric medicine for the past 35 years: 18 years in Europe and, since 1994, in the United States. I graduated from Saint Petersburg State Pediatric-Medical University with a Doctor of Medicine degree and completed my residency in Pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center. I cannot imagine my life without being a pediatrician; seeing sick children get better under my care, watching tiny premature newborns gain weight, start to sit, walk, and talk, and smile at me—these are all indescribable feelings of joy.
I am affiliated with three hospitals in the tri-state area: Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan, and Methodist Hospital, where I also see my private patients. I enjoy my practice daily but also love to travel around the world. My interests include collecting stamps, coins, and copies of famous paintings, as well as watching soccer and baseball games. My favorite teams are the New York Rangers and Knicks.

Office was cozy and friendly, they knew who we were right away. The wait time was fairly quick and we booked a pediatric consultation to get to know the location and doctor prior to my due date. I can say we are more than pleased to have found Dr. Gershkovich. We cannot wait to come back and have him take care of our baby.

The pediatrician could be more polite with child. However the analyses be ready very quickly , diagnosis and medications were made right, and my son was recovered in 3 days, the woman at the front desk is very very caring and nice lady, the waiting time was really short. I recommend this place for children’s observation and treatment.

Mother of two toddlers 18 months apart. Found him when I had my first child while living in Brooklyn. We relocated but I drive from New Jersey to see him whenever my daughters need to see a doctor. He is knowledgeable, and keeps me informed in all of their treatments. Won’t be changing doctors anytime soon.

He's a warm and caring doctor but he's also very professional and balances both perfectly. He does wonderfully comforting the children and making sure the patent is very comfortable as well. He also thoroughly explains what is going on so that there is barely need for questions. Highly recommended!

Initially when I saw Dr. Gershkovich had 4 out of 5 stars and was a lot closer to me than my children's original PCP (my favorite but she's too far for us) I was happy and when I saw he's affiliated with Maimonides Medical Center it reassured me a lot more. So my mother and I walked in and when I saw the doctor and spoke to him I automatically felt uncomfortable. It was a weird feeling in the office. There were files everywhere. He diagnose my son with a very bad sickness so he gave me medication and had me come back several times during a 2 week period and each time asked me why I was there. It drove me crazy that he didn't remember the reason for us being there. I know doctors see a lot of patient but seeing the same patient 5 or 6 times within a 2 week period is enough to remember our faces no less the diagnosis. Upon the last visit I decided I needed to use the bathroom and I couldn't believe the state of the bathroom. There were bags everywhere and I just so happened to look inside one of the bags and I found some stuff in there and let's just say it was not a drink that was to be consumed by a child. I even have pictures I took in there to prove it. So that was the last time I was going back there. Not to mention he gave me a very hard time filling out WIC papers. And everyone knows if those papers are not filled out properly then you do not get any WIC. The new doctor I found it ten times better! Please do not even consider going to this doctor unless they do a whole remodel of their office and the way he sees his patients.
