About Dr. Toyin Opesanmi

Toyin Opesanmi, M.D.(known as Dr. O) founded Gennesaret Medical Center in February 2011 due to a desire to provide the personal care her patients need. She has practiced in Maryland for about 9 years providing comprehensive health care services in a private practice setting, HMO and a local community health center. She has served as the Chief of Adult Medicine, overseeing three internal medicine clinics, as well as providing clinical oversight for the HIV and addictions program. She enjoys serving underprivileged and underserved communities and works diligently to improve their health outcomes.
Dr. Opesanmi is board certified in Family Practice, HIV Medicine, and Addictions Medicine. Dr. Opesanmi completed undergraduate studies at the University Of Illinois at Chicago and then attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now known as Drexel University) in Philadelphia. She fulfilled Family Practice residency requirements at the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler, Tyler, Texas. She is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), Maryland Association of Nigerian Physicians (MANP), and the Coalition of Baltimore HIV Providers (CBHIVP). Also a member of the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM). She is a wife, mother of 2, and delights in serving God and others. She is caring, dedicated, compassionate, empathetic, and uses her skills and talents to serve people, focusing on providing patients with personalized primary care services.

This doctor was very pompous and pretentious. I spent over an hour with her and never got what I went there for. The first time I went to her she was helpful and very nice, the second time I wind up having to go see another doctor just for my lab results because I refused to deal with her. Wait time in her office was insane so i always book the first appointment available. Her staff are genuine, friendly and helpful.

The actual encounter with the physician and the nurse practitioner was great. They were very professional as well as thorough which is something I appreciate very much. A body gets tired of waiting for months to get an appointment with a physician, having to wait 30-60 minutes I'm the waiting room only to spend about 5 minutes actually being seen by the physician. Now, as far as the wait time to be seen by this doctor? That was longer than I've ever had to wait. They were very apologetic however, saying that it wasn't usual for the wait time to be so long. I am due to go back for a follow-up in two weeks. I made it earlier in the day. I feel like maybe this next visit will go more smoothly. I get a very good vibe from this clinic. The physician and the nurse practitioner both held a very concerned disposition. They appeared very caring and competent. I left feeling pretty confident that I was in capable hands.
