Getting to know Dr. Tramia Squire

Hi, my name is Tramia, and I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner proudly serving clients in Maryland. I provide compassionate care to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress management challenges, burnout, insomnia and sleep issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), life transitions, loss, grief and bereavement, and trauma. I also support college and graduate students, as well as those navigating seasonal affective disorder (SAD). With 18 years of nursing experience and post-doctorate psychiatric training from Wilkes University, I bring both expertise and empathy to my work. I’m passionate about destigmatizing mental healthcare, and together with my colleagues at Lavender Psychiatry, I’m on a mission to create a world where feelings are felt, respected, and cared for.

What should a new client know about working with you?

PLEASE NOTE, I’M IN-NETWORK WITH AETNA, CAREFIRST BCBS, CIGNA, OXFORD, QUEST BEHAVIORAL, AND UNITED HEALTHCARE. I DO NOT ACCEPT MEDICARE OR MEDICAID. My therapeutic style is characterized by warmth, engagement, and a genuine personal connection. I believe in establishing a strong, collaborative relationship with each client, where we work together to make informed decisions about their treatment. My practice is inclusive and welcoming, embracing diversity in culture, background, and experience. My approach to mental healthcare is patient-centered and individualized. I believe that being empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, and supportive is imperative. These factors help foster a trusting and resilient nurse practitioner-client relationship and positively impact the client's perceived quality of care and overall well-being. Starting treatment can be a scary and intimidating process, I’ve successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Booking Process: Request your appointment time on Zocdoc. My office will email you an online intake form to ensure I’m able to help you. If we’re a fit, we’ll reach out to confirm an appointment time. I try my best to keep slots available each week for new clients. Your First Visit: The initial session is a comprehensive, one-hour evaluation which allows me to understand your current symptoms and difficulties, and learn about important aspects of your past psychiatric, medical, social, educational, and family histories. At the end of the session, we’ll determine the best treatment course. Session frequency ranges from weekly to monthly depending on the type of treatment you’re looking for. If you’re already seeing a therapist, I’m happy to collaborate with them while guiding the medication aspect of your treatment. However, many of my clients see me for both therapy and medication management. My practice, Lavender Psychiatry, is founded and fueled by board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners who create therapeutic journeys that are kind, convenient and transparent so that people can flourish. We have a fantastic team that works together to ensure our clients are well taken care of. This includes our care concierge team who is available 7 days a week between your appointments, to help answer questions and assist with any issues regarding coverage and prescriptions etc. We also have covering providers in case I’m away and an urgent matter arises. I look forward to meeting you and helping you in your journey to a brighter future!

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance

  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
