TyLisa Duckett, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at First Medical Associates in Bowie, MD. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Towson University in 2019 and began her career as a new graduate on an Orthopedic/ENT unit. Two years later, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she sought to better serve her community by starting her travel nursing career while pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing at George Washington University and training at George Washington University Hospital. She obtained her Master’s degree and became board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2024. TyLisa is eager to provide quality care with a warm and compassionate approach, helping patients optimize their health and achieve individualized goals. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

I am not an individual who is not harsh or critical when leaving a review but I am always honest. This is the first time, I was never required to change into a gown and did not receive a thorough physical examination. The only thing received was a lot of questions and if I had any concerns I was met with an answer to see a specific specialist for the concern. I received lab work but was never contacted regarding my results. I was able to sign up for the portal and analyze them myself. Unfortunately, the exam was lack thereof felt like a follow up appointment it was so brief. I enjoyed tht providers personality but I will not return due to those takeaways. The location of the office was difficult to locate and seemed to require updated renovations.

The appointment was okay. Felt rushed. So much so that my heart rate was higher than usual when they took my blood pressure. I was concerned so i took my bp again myself when i got home and the numbers were normal. The bigger issue is that the pap smear really hurt and I’ve never experienced that before with previous Pap smears. I was very sore for a couple days and then everything was back to normal. Not sure if she was just unable to see or if it was due to them moving so fast.

I seen NP Duckett for the first time today and i had a very good experience. Front office staff was very polite and efficient. My wait time was very minimal as well as once i got into the back and was triaged by the medical assistant i was seen right afterwards. My visit was for a yearly check up so it was fairly quick and straight to the point. My questions and concerns were addressed promptly. Overall good experience.

I had an amazing experience today. Starting with Ms.April, she was so amazing with getting me started and making feel comfortable, even stayed on the phone with my insurance provider for me!!! . Ms.TyLisa was also amazing, she was such a great listener, an even better communicator. Made me feel so comfortable and gave me a great referral for a dietitian. 10/10 for me!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome to have people that care!

So I saw so many nice reviews of this practice . However my appointment was at 930. I arrived at 9:20am to be told I have to be rescheduled because I didn’t show 30 minutes prior to appointment time because there was paperwork for me to come. How inconvenient was that. The receptionist said she ask the provider the provider stated to reschedule, no proper introduction from the doctor to say xyz I would have preceived it differently had she came to say I’m sorry but the appointment for new patients require xyz but you have your front staff saying you have to reshuffle because you didn’t come at 9am. I didn’t get a text to say those instructions or an online questionnaire anything . Very frustrated because I drove 43 mins to get to the appointment to be told to reschedule . Never again
