What should a new client know about working with you?

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, my approach is warm, collaborative, and personalized. I believe in meeting you where you are. whether you're feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or just ready for change. During our visits, you can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where we’ll explore your symptoms, concerns, and goals together. I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive, trauma-informed care to help you find clarity, balance, and long-term stability. We’ll work at your pace to build a plan that makes sense for you because your voice and your progress matter.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During your first appointment, we’ll spend time understanding your concerns, history, symptoms, and goals. This is a full psychiatric evaluation where I’ll ask about: - Your emotional and mental health experiences - Medical history and current medications - Lifestyle, sleep, stress, relationships, and support system - Any past treatments or diagnoses I’ll listen without judgment and work to understand what’s been weighing on you. Whether that’s anxiety, depression, mood swings, trauma, or something else. Based on your needs, we’ll build a treatment plan that may include: - Medication management, if appropriate - Supportive therapy and coping strategies - Referrals for therapy or specialized care when needed - Collaborative goal setting, tailored to your life and pace I believe in starting low and going slow with medications—monitoring for side effects and effectiveness, and adjusting as needed. Follow-ups are usually every 2–4 weeks at first and then spaced out as you stabilize. In these sessions, we’ll: Check in on symptoms and side effects Review progress toward your goals Talk through challenges and adjustments needed Provide support and encouragement Your voice and feedback matter. We’ll adjust the plan together as life changes or new needs arise. My goal is to help you feel safe, supported, and in control of your mental health. I’ll be your partner in progress, helping you move from “stuck” to stable and beyond.
