Actively involved in numerous research projects, Dr. Scarpidis is recognized for his contributions to the scientific community. As a clinical investigator in laser liposuction (SmartLipoTM), Dr. Scarpidis presented guidelines for the safe and efficacious use of this technology at national Plastic Surgery conferences. He has been invited by local and national Plastic Surgery societies to share his research on the changes the face undergoes with aging and his surgical techniques for facial rejuvenation. His work has earned him the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgery Clinical Poster Competition Award two years in a row.

Short wait time and very pleasant reception staff who were very helpful and accommodating, even though I was running a few minutes late for my appointment.
Dr Scarpidis was very thorough in addressing my concerns, and laid out all of my options very clearly without pushing me towards anything. Did not rush through the appointment and had great bedside manner. Highly recommend, at least for a consultation.

I just went in for a consultation. The closet size exam room was completely awkward. The assistant saw me first, and lacked any bedside manner. She made me feel quite uncomfortable, with the air of "you're wasting my time" , standing above me and never really making eye contact. She riddled off questions while one handed typing on her iPad, asking me the same questions multiple times and not connecting information I had already given her, making me wonder if she was actually paying attention. The doctor was friendly enough but slightly condescending when I had very real concerns about my procedure - except when he was up-selling follow-on procedures... Not a place I'd feel confident going back to.

The visit proved to be wasteful. I went in to get a breast reduction consultation covered by my insurance and instead I was basically told that i would have to get all the proofs necessary by myself in order for the doctor to submit the request to the insurance. It was mostly negative feedback, gave me the impression that the doctor was trying to discourage me from using the insurance and instead have me pay for the surgery myself even though I had received prior approval from the insurance and he is a participating provider.

He's a really good guy. Very honest. Really nice. I fell and hit my head and had a gash over my forehead. I went to a derm in NJ which was, well... She gave me some Vaseline and sent me packing. He knew exactly how and when to approach it. I also asked him a question about stretch marks. Rather than up sell me services, was very candid and squarely told me the truth. Much appreciated. Good guy. And I'm a physician, so I know good habits, personality and genuineness from another colleague.
Highly recommend if you want an honest, kind and knowledgeable physician.
