About Dr. Vanessa Charubhumi
Vanessa Charubhumi, MD is an attending physician and Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore Einstein, specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgery in patients of all ages. Common conditions she treats are fractures, arthritis, peripheral neuropathy, and tendon and ligament injuries of the upper extremity from shoulder to fingertip, including rotator cuff tears and shoulder instability.
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts majoring in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Charubhumi attended New York University Grossman School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine. She completed her residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore Einstein. She further pursued fellowship training in Sports Medicine at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, where she assisted in the care of several professional and collegiate teams, including the Boston Celtics and Tufts University, gaining experience in treating athletes at all levels of competition. After her time in Boston, she completed additional fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic before joining the faculty at Montefiore Einstein.
Dr. Charubhumi's research focuses on pathology of the upper extremity and she has given numerous presentations at national conferences and published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. She is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the society of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Her professional interests include teaching medical students and residents and mentoring female and minority students.

Office was a little hard to find but once found office was clean and staff was very friendly and kind. Was seen within a reasonable amount of time and treated on the scene, given options for treatment. Staff and doctor was knowledgeable of my condition diagnosed right away.
