About Dr. Vicken Pamoukian
Dr. Vicken Pamoukian lives in New York City and has spent his life striving for excellence as a Physician and Surgeon. As a dedicated surgeon, he enjoys the intellectual and personal aspects of practicing Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Dr. Pamoukian has served the people of New York City and the Tri-State area for over 26 years, helping patients achieve a better, healthier life.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Sackler School of Medicine. He began his internship in 1996 at Lenox Hill Hospital under the guidance of preeminent NYC surgeons. After maintaining the highest academic standards throughout residency, he was awarded Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Pamoukian then completed a coveted fellowship in Rochester, NY, under Dr. Richard Green, then president of the Society of Vascular Surgeons. During his fellowship, he undertook several research projects and was highly active, prompting Lenox Hill to recruit him back to continue his outstanding care.
As a solo practitioner, Dr. Pamoukian gives special attention to each patient on a one-to-one basis. All patients meet him in his private office, and their care is managed entirely by him, providing comfort and security that he is fully invested in their health.
He employs the latest technology and creates custom plans tailored to each patient. His expertise in cosmetic venous surgery and advanced arterial diseases places him at the forefront of care for vascular disorders. Having been specially trained during residency and fellowship, Dr. Pamoukian clearly understands and treats vascular diseases. PROS: Overall great experience. Front desk very was friendly and expected me. They had my insurance and all the forms online. All I had to do was show my license, Short wait. Dr. Pamoukian was friendly, attentive , explained what the technician was doing. After he said everything was good and he was sending a note of clearance for surgery to my surgeon (who referred me) very short visit but definitely not rushed.
CONS: Tiny waiting room and I believe my son & I were the only ones wearing masks. None of the staff were wearing masks including the Dr. And the room was very little so with the technician & the machine and the Dr. made me nervous. I’m a bad asthmatic and I always wear a mask and still follow the post lockdown procedures.
The worst thing was the bathroom - 1 for m& f which is fine . But it was not clean , there was soap but no towels, and the faucet was broken and cold water was just dribbled out.
For the procedure I had, I would recommend him.

Everybody in the office was amazing. Dr pamoukian was running behind due to an emergency surgery that morning but was still very thorough and clear during my appointment and did not rush me even though his waiting room was packed with appointments. I’m very happy with my care with him. I drove 2 hours to be seen by him.

That is not so much about medical details but about his totally unfair billing system. Next day after placing claim with my Medicare he sent me invoice for full amount - thus trying to charge twice - Medicare and myself. And after receiving payment from Medicare on 1.18.16 - he again sent me invoice (for amount 30 times larger he is really entitled) dated 1.26.16!
