Psychiatrist
33 Overlook Rd, Ste 210, Summit, NJ
Integrative Behavioral Care. Our treatment philosophy operates from a biopsychosocial framework to implement the most comprehensive treatment plan for each patient. We believe psychopharmacological interventions are an important part of a treatment plan but are most efficacious when combined with non-pharmacological approaches such as psychodynamic or cognitive behavioral psychotherapy, as well as integrative medicine. Our services include consultation, genetic testing, and medication management for a variety of conditions—all with an integrative approach. We work closely with numerous therapists, both within and outside our practice, to whom we can refer you if therapy is essential to your treatment. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine, which informs my commitment to providing holistic, patient-centered care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in an integrative approach to every patient. The fields of medicine and psychiatry are rapidly changing, as more physicians are acknowledging the accumulating research looking at nutritional interventions for psychiatric illness. The understanding of genetics, metabolism, and nutrition is now incorporated into mainstream medicine. I have devoted my career to educating my colleagues, clinicians, and patients on how integrative medicine can have profound effects on mental wellness and how to employ balanced, integrative strategies in the treatment mental illness. My services include consultation and medication management. I work very closely with a number of therapists who I refer to if therapy is essential to your treatment. I have experience treating a wide range of psychiatric illnesses ranging from eating disorder, anxiety, addiction and depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I will also treat teens 13 and up. I am specially licensed to prescribe Suboxone, Subutex and Buprenorphine for treatment of opioid dependence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We implement genetic testing in the office or it can be done at home in order to decrease the risk of side effects and increase the likelihood of achieving a therapeutic response.
