Dr. Lipovetsky is an excellent psychiatrist. He is not overbearing and takes the time to really listen to me and offers very accurate insight into the issues that we talk about. I find that he explains things easily and has a good way of simplifying issues that we discuss in our sessions.

I have been in practice as a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. When I work with you I try to identify the roots of the struggles that you want help with. The roots include your experiences as a child, your natural dispositions, the struggles you encountered along the way and in the present moment. For me, it is not true that every difficulty is to be addressed with medication even if it is considered at times to be a "chemical imbalance." This is why I offer individual psychotherapy more often then I prescribe.
At present I am available only on video to patients in California and Michigan where I am licensed to practice.
Very serious struggles, such as suicidality, hallucinations, borderline personality disorder, self harm, anorexia should not be treated by video only and require in my opinion in person visits.
Also controlled substances, such as benzodiazepines (like Xanax) or stimulants (like Ritalin) cannot be prescribed by me in virtual visits.
These are some of the reasons why after you book an initial appointment, I will speak to you on the phone in advance of that appointment to see if we have the correct fit..
