I was born in Novosibirsk, Russia and graduated from the Novosibirsk Medical School Summa Cum Laude in 1983. In 1985, I completed my residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and started to practice medicine. I was also involved in medical research in the area of critical care and the epidemiology of Cardiovascular diseases. In 1991, I received my PhD in medicine. After I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1992, I worked as a postgraduate researcher and as a research scientist with the University of California, San Francisco, and at the Ischemia Research and Education Foundation in San Francisco. I have been practicing medicine in San Leandro since 1998 after I completed my residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco - Fresno program. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. I am a member in good standing with the Alameda ? Contra Costa Medical Association. I am married, have two sons and I enjoy music, sports and travel.
