About Dr. Walter Priestley
Dr. Walter Priestley has been practicing in the Village of Farmingdale since 1988. He has treated thousands of your friends and neighbors since that time. His practice has grown because of his caring, effective professional service.
In 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2021 the office was voted by the readers of the Long Island Press as the “Best Chiropractic Office on Long Island.” Previously in 2003, he was presented the award of "Business Person of the Year" by the Nassau Council of Chamber of Commerce. In 2011 and 2014, he was awarded the Long Island Business News "Healthcare Heroes" award for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine. Dr. Priestley also completed his first NYC Marathon in November 2015 and his second NYC Marathon in 2019.
He is a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook 1984. He received his doctorate in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College and his license to practice in the states of New York and California in 1988.
He has post graduate certificates in radiology, scoliosis and cervical acceleration/ deceleration (whiplash)
type injuries from the Spine Research Institute. He is currently board certified in chiropractic pediatrics.
Dr. Priestley is a member of the Nassau District of the New York State Chiropractic Association and Long Island Doula Association.
He is certified by the American Red Cross as a "Protect your Back" instructor. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Priestley lives with his wife and three children less than a mile from his office in Farmingdale.
Dr. Priestley is available for lectures to professional and lay groups on a variety of topics including starting a fitness program, reducing your risk of neck and back injuries, auto safety facts, alternative health care among others. Dr. Priestley is also involved in coaching youth sports such as basketball and swimming. He is a fitness enthusiast participating in local triathlons and other athletic events.

Dr. Priestley is an excellent chiropractor. He takes the time to go over everything, showed me several stretches to do, and the adjustment went really well. The girls in the office are lovely! Always friendly and they make sure everyone is taken care of.

I booked an appointment with Dr. Priestley for my chronic neck/right shoulder pain and he has been determined to help me. He’s definitely one of best doctors I’ve ever seen. He’s really kind, helpful, easy to talk to, and really cares about his patients. The office is welcoming, clean, and is pretty spacious with a large waiting room and plenty of rooms for appointments. The staff are super friendly and attentive as well. There’s also a parking lot so I’ve never had trouble finding a spot. I’ve also left with a few treats after some of my visits as well (e.g. a cookie for St. Patrick’s Day as well as a box of Girl Scouts cookies) which, again, just shows how much they care about and value their patients. I would 100% recommend Dr. Priestley and Priestley Chiropractic to anyone looking for a great chiropractor.
