About Dr. Wei Liu
Dr. Liu's brand new medical office is located in Tangram Tower, next to the 7 train last stop (Main Street) and LIRR Flushing Station. There is self and valet parking available in the Tangram mall garage. Dr. Liu's office is open from 9 AM to 5 PM (Monday-Saturday) with little to no waiting time. We accept the majority of insurances.
Dr. Liu graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from Hebei Medical University and earned her PhD from Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) in China, both with honors. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training at New York Medical College/The Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Patients see Dr. Liu for a variety of medical conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, allergies, gastritis, kidney disease, urinary tract infections, thyroid disorders, annual physicals, vaccinations, STD screening, weight loss, pretravel consultations, and more.
Prior to residency, Dr. Liu worked as a scientist at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), where she was a pioneering researcher in cancer research. Together with Dr. James Phang, she discovered several important mechanisms critical for developing novel cancer therapies. Dr. Liu has published over 30 original papers and has been invited multiple times to speak at national and international conferences.
