About Dr. William Rubenstein

Dr. Will Rubenstein is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He focuses on both surgical and non-surgical treatments of hip and knee arthritis. Born and raised in Brookline, Massachusetts, Dr. Rubenstein attended Yale University, where he was a varsity swimmer and qualified for the US national championships. He graduated cum laude with a double major in History and Economics. Before pursuing medicine, he worked at Bain & Company as a management consultant and at Major League Baseball in the league economics and strategy department. While at MLB, he collaborated with orthopedic surgeons on projects related to player health, safety, and performance, which inspired him to become an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Rubenstein earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha society upon graduation. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco, one of the nation's top-ranked programs. At UCSF, he led a quality improvement initiative aimed at reducing the time to surgery for patients with hip fractures. He has published numerous academic articles and presented at national conferences on hip and knee arthroplasty clinical outcomes. Following residency, Dr. Rubenstein completed a fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. There, he trained under national arthroplasty leaders, gaining expertise in anterior hip replacements, partial knee replacements, robotic surgery, custom implants, and complex revision surgery.
