Getting to know Yolanda Cardona

Welcome to Harbor Hope Psych Care. I have taken care of clients for over 25yrs. I am a board certified Nurse Practitioner. I am dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental health and overall well being. With a strong foundation in both psychiatry and family practice, I bring a perspective to care recognizing that mind and body are deeply connected. I have experience in adolescent psychiatry. Please keep in mind I do not prescribe controlled medications.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a compassionate, sincere, safe environment. The first visit will involve me asking a lot of questions about you, how you cope, and your symptoms. This is a way for me to get to know you better. We will discuss your goals and create a plan.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I specialize in medication management. I believe in practicing with a patient centered evidence-based collaborative approach. This approach encourages patients to clarify their own goals and ultimately leads to strengthening their confidence and skills to manage their health. My role involves a lot of communication and sincerity. Communication is key, and the time spent building rapport leads to better outcomes.
