Getting to know Dr. Zita Benjamin
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a strong clinical background in treating mental health conditions across the lifespan. My practice includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing therapeutic support for adolescents, adults, and seniors. I earned my BSN from Grand Canyon University, MSN from Walden University with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health, and Doctor of Nursing Practice from Touro University, Nevada.
I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and other mental health concerns in teens, adults, and older adults. I conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing support in a warm, collaborative environment.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care. I believe that mental health treatment works best when it’s a partnership. Together, we will explore your concerns, set meaningful goals, and develop a treatment plan that fits your unique needs and values.
In our work together, you can expect a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you’re encouraged to share openly. I take time to understand your history, symptoms, and life context before recommending any treatment. Depending on your needs, care may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and supportive or brief psychotherapy.
During your first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you, discussing your current challenges, goals for treatment, and what has or has not worked for you in the past. By the end of the visit, we’ll outline a personalized care plan and next steps to help you move toward stability and emotional well-being.
My goal is to empower you on your healing journey, helping you feel heard, supported, and equipped with the tools to manage your mental health with confidence.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Before your first appointment, I’ll give you a brief 15-minute call to get a general sense of your concerns and goals. This helps me better prepare for our visit and ensure we make the most of our time together. After that, I’ll send you a patient registration form to complete before your appointment. This form provides important background information that helps guide our initial session and allows us to focus on what matters most to you.
