"Trans*-friendly (see end of review for more info on this) and generally excellent. If I could give Dr. Dokko and her office more than 5 stars, I would have. She was thorough and definitive but still listened and adjusted her treatment plan/directions based on my concerns. She was informative and answered questions well, but didn't get impatient when I asked her to repeat something. She has the best bedside manner of any specialist I've ever seen (and better than most of the internists I've seen). Her office manager was the only person to not screw up my insurance in five years of HMO-labeled-as-PPO, and the receptionist working when I got there was one of the nicest members of any medical staff I have ever encountered (including myself). No one gave me a hard time about being five minutes late, but I was seen almost immediately. Primarily of interest to trans/GNC folks: I would characterize my experience here as extremely trans*-friendly. (I'm mid-30s, non-binary and white.) I was treated with respect and courtesy by everyone. Dr Dokko didn't assume that I was crazy, even though a previous neurologist had (this is impressive regardless of the patient's gender). My medical-transition history and status were irrelevant and were treated accordingly by Dr. Dokko and staff; the one relevant transition-related question was asked in an informed manner. The only gender/sex check boxes on the intake form were "male" and "female", but nobody balked when I wrote in another option. (For the uninitiated, most doctors will assume that you are crazy just because you're trans*; the ratio of "humor you" to "assault you" doctors is rapidly improving, but true competence is still rare. And yes, the other demographics are relevant.)"
