SOMA Physical Therapy and Healing Arts
Dr. Penelope Regalado, DPT, Cert. DN, 500RYT, Reiki Level 2
Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Penelope earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University in 2016 and her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2022.
Driven by both professional and personal experience with pelvic health challenges, Penelope has pursued an extensive advanced training in pelvic floor rehabilitation. She completed all levels of the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Series by 2022, along with numerous continuing education courses focused on pelvic health, women's health, men's health, and functional movement.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Penelope is a certified yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner who regularly incorporates principles of mindfulness, body awareness, and nervous system regulation into her work. She believes that true healing occurs when the physical, emotional, and energetic aspects of the body are considered together.
By blending evidence-based physical therapy with a compassionate and holistic perspective, Penelope helps patients uncover and address the underlying contributors to pelvic floor dysfunction. She recognizes that no two healing journeys are alike, and tailors each session to meet the unique needs of the individual in that moment.
Whether supporting patients through pelvic pain, painful intercourse, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, post-menopausal concerns, post-prostatectomy or other pelvic floor conditions, Penelope creates a safe, supportive environment where patients feel seen, heard, and empowered throughout their healing process.
