I believe we are all born with everything we need to thrive, but life often challenges us in many ways, causing us to adjust our beliefs and behaviors just to survive. If you are seeking a therapist, it’s likely you’re not satisfied with how you’ve adapted to life’s various hardships.
My approach to therapy is direct, incorporates humor, and is grounded in cognitive behavioral theory with a strengths-based perspective. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated for change and willing to do the hard work it takes to achieve it. Together, we explore what brought you to this point, the resources you have to reach your goals, and the obstacles blocking your path.
I have over 20 years of experience in behavioral health across diverse settings, including residential treatment facilities, crisis centers, college counseling centers, psychiatric hospitals, and currently, an emergency department. I specialize in treating anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and interpersonal conflict. I have a particular interest in working with first responders and healthcare workers, having witnessed firsthand the increased suffering in this population over recent years. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Vermont and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver.
