About Dr. Amanda Macht
Dr. Amanda Macht began Harbor Physical Therapy in July 2006. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiological Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Macht specializes in treating soft tissue, overuse, post-operative, and sports injuries. She truly enjoys working with people, creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for physical therapy. This was my first time going to physical therapy and the Harbor Physical Therapy team was so friendly and nice, I looked forward to every appointment I had. I was always seen right on time and the Physical Therapists really cared about making me better. If I need physical therapy in the future, I'll definitely be going there!

I had an excellent experience as a patient at Dr. Macht’s practice. She and all the office staff are very attentive- they provided multiple reminders for the upcoming appointment, as well as detailed directions for arrival and parking the night before my appointment. Dr. Macht’s diagnosis was thorough and she provided a very detailed review of the treatment plan based on what she saw as issues of concern and also accomodated my desire to prevent future injuries in my ankles.

Amanda was fantastic. I had already been to a few doctors who couldn't figure out what was wrong with my leg and Amanda figured it out in the first ten minutes. Everyone in the office was kind, easy to talk to and there was no runaround or long wait times. One of the best doctor experiences I've ever had.

it was my 1st appointment so the wait was primarily due to filling out some additional paperwork despite the fact that I had submitted an online form by ZocDoc of my medical history.
Dr. Macht is very nice, listens very well, and was insightful in explaining the reason for my lower back pain, (tight muscles and weak back muscles). I was provided a few stretch exercises to alleviate pain from my lower back, but generally felt a bit rushed, despite the absence of patients in the waiting room.
The general plan going forwards sounded good, such as strengthening my core and back with weight lifting but also appeared to be a rather lengthy recovery and strengthening plan that spanned several weeks, which was time that I unfortunately do not have. But I do not know whether this is the standard regimen as Dr. Macht was my 1st Physical Therapist.
