As a dedicated therapist, my mission is to assist individuals in navigating the complexities of mental health and recovery. I firmly believe each person has the potential for transformation and the right to explore diverse paths toward personal development, with therapy as one route. I am fully licensed in Illinois as a Clinical Therapist and Supervisor and hold an EdD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Viterbo University. Recognizing the deeply personal nature of mental health challenges, I adopt a client-centered approach prioritizing the unique needs, experiences, and aspirations of each individual.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Therapy, using techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness practices to address mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, eating disorders, addiction, and other symptoms. I consider socio-economic factors, life stages, sexual orientation, and mental health issues from basic to advanced cases, including those related to physical disabilities, chronic illness, grief/loss, and life transitions.
I am committed to enhancing access to mental health care, especially for marginalized communities. My focus extends beyond education and research to include delivering accessible, evidence-based treatment and advocacy. I strive to combat stigma, raise awareness, and help individuals and families locate vital resources. While recovery may not always be linear, healing is achievable through one's willingness to engage and by being paired with effective support.
