About Dr. Ashley Marcus

Dr. Ashley Marcus MD, specialty is Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a physiatrist, who completed a musculoskeletal fellowship in Interventional Pain Management, sports medicine, and occupational medicine. She first decided to become a Physiatrist when she realized that focusing on physical medicine and rehabilitation would allow her to improve patients’ functional status and quality of life. She grew up with a mother struggling to overcome the debilitating symptoms of multiple sclerosis. She observed that one of the most frustrating things for an individual to lose is their independence and, secondly, the ability to do the things he or she enjoys. She has made it her mission to promote her patient’s functional recovery so that they can go back to the activities that they love.
She attended medical school at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and then completed an internship in internal medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. She embraced leadership during her residency at Nassau University Medical School, where she was the chief resident as well as the president of the resident’s council. In order to obtain further training, she returned to Rutgers to complete a fellowship in musculoskeletal medicine. She is a member of the Spine Intervention Society and the New York Society of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and believes in staying up to date with the most current evidence-based medicine.

It is recommended that you call after you book an appointment because they don’t go by appointments through this app. After I booked I just happened to call just to confirm the doctor I was seeing was familiar with the issue I was having and I was told that they don’t go by Zocdoc appointments but I was still able to get an appointment the same day, just a different time so it worked out for me. Doctor seemed very knowledgeable so I would recommend
