I have always been intrigued by the human psyche and its ability to heal even from the deepest trauma.Trauma affects the brain and the body, causing all sorts of problems for the individual. When we feel out of control, unfocused, angry and detached, we are also unable to heal. I believe that everybody experiences trauma at one point or another and the impact of trauma varies by individual. I believe in focusing on interventions that do not require the re-telling of the individual’s trauma, as well as, teaching people to feel calm, safe and internally connected, can help them tolerate the unbearable emotions they have been carrying inside and ultimately access the trauma beneath the surface.
