Brittany A. Tipton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience and has expertise in areas of anxiety, grief, stress management, medical trauma and ADHD. Brittany has special interest in women’s issues and the stress and trauma that can occur in medical, mental health and first responder professions. Brittany uses various therapeutic modalities including, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Multi-systemic Therapy (MST) and Acceptance and Integration Training (AAIT). In session, clients can expect to have a time to discuss what is on their mind and what they want to target. Once a goal for session has been established, Brittany leads clients through cognitive processes and meditation practices that address client needs and goals. Brittany also utilizes techniques of role/point of view work, guided imagery and energy and somatic psychology processes. Clients will also have the opportunity to learn processes that can be utilized so that those desired states of being may be accessed outside of the therapy session. Brittany values self-determination and offers a safe space for those belonging to LGBTQ, non-binary/binary populations as well as explicitly supports antiracism work via exploring and addressing inherent bias and trauma related to racism.
While not at the office, Brittany enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters and can often be found playing softball, walking with friends or being lazy on the couch with her giant lap dog. Brittany attended the University of Tennessee and earned both a Master of Social Work with Clinical concentration in 2009 and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a Minor in Psychology in 2004.
