Hi there, I'm Cheryl Ann!
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have a Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy from National University, and I completed a master's degree in counseling psychology from Tarleton State University. My undergraduate hours are in Art Therapy at Baylor University. My LPC license is in Texas. I have been in private practice, elder therapy, county mental health clinics, education, and the criminal justice field.
My approach
My strengths are providing concepts, strategies, and techniques for individuals suffering, managing, or wanting to explore new supports for mood disorders, anger management, anxiety, adult ADHD, mindfulness, meditation, creative arts, and wellness.
My focus
If you are ready to learn, stretch, and grow into a place where there are possibilities for a new road map on your life journey, I would love to help you find it. My sessions are aimed to be fun and possibly cathartic. Growth, whether emotional or behavioral, doesn't have to be painful. Come reframe your situation with me as you are provided tools with new strategies, a place to move forward, as well as homework to practice, a treatment plan you collaborate on, and compassionate, non-judgmental, positive regard.
My communication style
This is your therapy, we will work together to identify your needs. My communication style is supportive through my encouragement for positive changes you decide. I am your personal cheerleader, supporting and providing the strategies you believe will lighten the load you are carrying.
My journey to mental healthcare
This career love began when I was 15 years old. My love for serving others, giving support, and friendliness to all, for acceptance in life, no matter the situation. My faith and family foundations were difficult to understand and sometimes a struggle as my family moved often, and readjustment was necessary, and I was expected to accept my parents' mission in faith.
