I have been working with Cris for almost 5 months and in that time I have experienced noticeable personal growth that I attribute to my counseling sessions with Cris. I first came to Cris with a diagnosis of a mood disorder and now recently treatment has changed to bipolar type 2. Cris provides high quality care that is so consistent; he truly listens and I never feel like he’s not on his A game. I have recommended him to family and friends and I hope they consider working with him because I know they’ll walk away from the visit feeling heard, never judged and excited to work with someone who is as knowledgeable as Cris.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship difficulties, stress, and addictions. My approach to counseling is drawn from a variety of therapeutic techniques. I believe that there is no one size fits all modality of treatment. Using a client-centered approach, I work collaboratively to develop an authentic and trusting relationship drawing from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness, and Acceptance-Commitment Therapy to create a more holistic approach to counseling. I attained my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. I have worked with individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and the LGBT community. Outside of my passion for counseling, I enjoy spending time in nature. I like to stay active through bike riding on the San Antonio Green Way trails and hiking local and national parks. Activities I enjoy in my life that help me with my mental health include mindfulness practices, yoga, and reading. I believe that change comes from within, and people are inherently able to grow stronger, gain confidence, and achieve their goals. As a Counselor, my calling is to support clients in finding their strengths that will assist in their ability to make the changes they are seeking.

Not to be dramatic, but best therapist ever. I’ve been going to therapy for eons and have not found anyone that I felt genuinely helped but Chris is the holy grail of therapists. 10/10, would sell my kidney if required (just kidding ??)
