Getting to know Kamitra Scott
Welcome! I am Kamitra. Do you have depressive, negative, or self-defeating thoughts that make life hard to enjoy? Do you feel as if you are not good enough or that your traumatic past is holding you back from achieving your best self? Trust me, you are not the only one. I assist minorities in overcoming those overwhelming thoughts associated with anxiety, depression, and trauma.
I love channeling those inner feelings and processing thoughts to get to the core of your struggles, all while creating structure in your daily life, setting goals, and increasing self-esteem. This is your safe space, and I am here to assist you in creating the best version of yourself. Therapy may seem scary; however, we will take it one session at a time. When you are ready, let's get started!
I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas, Arlington, which equips me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively on your journey.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Growing up, mental health didn’t exist in my family or community. Now that I am wiser, I know it was always there but overlooked, especially in minority communities. I am here to assist you not only get through those trying times in life that we all go through but also to let you know that you are not alone in this journey. I will challenge you to become the best version of yourself by providing you with the tools and confidence to face yourself, others and have those difficult conversations.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
