What if I said, ?You are not broken? or ?You don?t need to be fixed?? There is nothing inherently wrong with you. Instead, your essence is wise and kind, and you have simply lost sight of this core genuine being, or Self.
As a therapist trained at Naropa University with a Master?s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and holding a Bachelor?s degree from the University of Kentucky, I believe my role is to support you in reconnecting with your Self by reclaiming your wholeness, humanness, worthiness, freedom, and vibrancy. The ways you may be struggling today?anxiety, trauma, depression, relationships, low self-confidence, self-doubt, or intrusive thoughts?are often symptoms of this loss of Self. It is common to get stuck in these patterns and feel exhausted, overwhelmed, confused, scared, or shameful, pushed and pulled by unconscious tendencies, disconnected from the present moment and your innate well-being.
As a Contemplative therapist, I offer a safe, non-judgmental, compassionate, and creative space for clients to come into contact with all aspects of themselves?their wounded and adaptive parts as well as their wisdom and wholeness. Our path together will cultivate self-awareness, self-compassion, and courage to make wise choices about how to live this one life of yours in congruence with what matters to you.
In session, my somatic-based trauma approach invites clients to courageously pause, slow down, get curious, and offer compassion to their direct experience?beliefs, thoughts, perceptions, feelings, and sensations. Developing the capacity to work with uncomfortable experiences as well as feel nourished by ?the good? is foundational to building resilience. Over time, this practice builds inner trust by embracing the totality of experience, both delightful and difficult. This genuine kindness toward oneself is the gateway to radically reclaiming your Self and well-being?an integrated mind, body, and spirit capable of meeting all of life?s challenges.
