Hi there, I'm Deanne Acton, LMSW!
As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. Whether you're seeking help for personal growth, navigating relationships, or managing mental health concerns, I am here to guide you on your journey to wellness. I bring a holistic approach to mental health, tailoring therapy to meet each client's unique needs. I focus on helping individuals overcome anxiety, depression, and stress using proven techniques rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and other modalities.
I have a Master of Social Work degree from Michigan State University and over a decade of experience in social work, research, and clinical practice. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges through evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
My approach is person-centered and incorporates CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and ACT. I like to collaborate with clients on their goals for therapy and work together throughout the process.
I typically work with middle-aged to senior women on anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, and interpersonal relationships.
My sessions are collaborative and structured, with a focus on working together through homework. I create a safe space to share and strive to empower clients.
I enjoy working with others and assisting them in navigating their concerns.
Together, we work on your goals and revisit them regularly to see what is working and where we might try new strategies.
