Getting to know Ashten Gallagher
Oh hey. I'm Ashten. I'm a trauma specialist who's particularly well versed in attachment and complex trauma. I offer both in person and virtual sessions, although my in person hours are limited because I utilize a local community space and only have it a few hours a few days a week, just FYI. I like humor, and I like to cuss sometimes if you do (and if you don't then I won't). I love science and educating people about how trauma impacts them on a physical level. I use all the heavily researched trauma therapies but mostly I just want to know you and your story and see how I can help be your emotional tour guide. Lastly, I believe in the primary mental health care model. If possible, I want to build a relationship that allows me to be your therapist long term. We might reach out goals right now, but if life throws a curveball at you in 2, 5, 7 years? Reach out to me, let's get you back in, and you don't have to worry about telling your story all over again. I already know you.
What should a new client know about working with you?
After an initial intake session which includes reviewing policy and exploring your history, we move into processing the experiences, beliefs, and behaviors that shape your life. I utilize thoroughly researched therapy interventions best suited to you and how you receive information, but at the heart of everything I aim to ensure that after each session you feel confident in discovering another piece of yourself. The goal is to distinguish from thoughts and behaviors that help you vs those that hinder you. It's your life, you have a vision for it, and once we define that vision, we work together to figure out how to get you there.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

While only allowing me to select 2 options, I will say Ashten is also authentic, intelligent, and caring. She does a great job of balancing compassion and empathy with necessary hard truths in a way that is validating and encouraging.
