Dorian did not think she was the right fit for me due to the very, very specific nature of my situation, but she was very kind, informative, and told me what she felt I should do to find the help I needed. I could tell she was professional, considerate, and knowledgeable.

I've had three appointments. The first was great. Unfortunately, the second was canceled by therapist due to the therapist's exhaustion and this time due to an accident that landed her in the hospital. None of this has ever happened before with a therapist, honestly, and I will have to find someone who has a more stable practice.
The first visit was great. I was really hopeful she could help me. She seemed very attentive and compassionate. And then came the second visit: she was a no-show. I was a little shocked, but then there are always miscommunications and I will admit I was pretty emotional during the first visit. I actually assumed I had somehow missed some instruction on confirming the appointment, so I called her and left a message with my number. And then called a second time and left my number. Neither call was returned and it's been over a week. I am stunned.
I chose Dorian because of the great reviews, but also because of her convenient location and availability. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. Towards the end of our first session, I started feeling judged, even apologizing to her and wishing I hadn't divulged some of my problems. Even so, I decided I'd try her a second time. On that note, I should point out she doesn't write anything down. I remember thinking, "I hope she remembers me." Well, she didn't remember me and she didn't remember setting up our next appointment. I know it was an honest mistake, but my time is precious. I wish her the best, but I won't be seeing her again.

I came for treatment for anxiety. First she asked me to sit in another chair directly in front of her which was only one foot away from another chair I was currently sitting in that was also directly in her line of vision. Unless she has homonymous hemianopsia I should be able to sit where I felt comfortable for therapy. Or she should have just adjusted her own chair to accommodate the patient. I came in for an hour session and stayed only 10 minutes because after explaining to her about my panic attacks. She stopped me by putting her hand up and saying "I am going to stop you right there." She proceeded to ask if I have been hospitalized. She also then continued to say I needed to go to a facility to be evaluated thoroughly by an MD and a psychiatrist as well, in one big cohesive setting. When I tried to continue to tell her that I had other stressors in conjunction to this and wanted to talk about it. She again stopped me by putting her hand up and saying "I don't think you are listening to me. I can't help you." I got up, took my belongings. Said thank you for your time and for wasting mine. Her specialization is listed as follows on her website: Therapy for Depression and Anxiety Couples Counseling Parenting Support Grief Counseling Work and Career issues Stress Management Addiction & Recovery Conflict Resolution She cannot provide help with those with anxiety so that should not be a specialization of hers if she is turning away patients who need help with anxiety and stress management.
