Hi there, I'm Liz! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in NYC and taking clients state-wide via telehealth. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and specialize in trauma-informed care. I use a strength-based, client-focused approach to help my clients make progress towards their goals.
My approach
My approach varies depending on the client's goals and needs. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help improve unhelpful thinking patterns and behavioral patterns. I have experience with Motivational Interviewing and Family Therapy as well. I work together with the client to find the best approach to help them progress forward and reach their goals.
My focus
I have experience working with adults, children, and teenagers who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, self-harm, substance use, and behavioral concerns in school or at home. I work to help my clients manage distressing thoughts and navigate difficult situations so that they can build skills to feel better and improve daily functioning.
My communication style
I work to create a comfortable, nonjudgemental environment so that the client can feel open to discussing their thoughts and feelings. I strive to meet my clients where they are at and help make therapy feel helpful and not overwhelming or unpleasant.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will want to know what brings you to therapy and your history. I will be interested in learning more about you as a person and your experiences. This will set the stage to help us build a treatment plan and create SMART goals.
