Getting to know Elizabeth Silverman

I work with adults and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, issues related to drugs or alcohol, and those recovering and healing from trauma. I have supported individuals in exploring their gender and sexuality and embrace non-binary, trans, and queer identities. I also specialize in perinatal, postpartum, and parental mental health. Many of my clients are mental health care providers themselves, who need clinical supervision or emotional support. My approach supports exploration of both the roots of emotions, behaviors, and patterns, while also talking about the here and now. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Hunter College, City University of New York, and a Master's in Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Emory University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy as a collaborative journey to understand more about our selves, experiences, and relationships. At the heart of the work is an exploration of the unconscious with the aim of bridging our past and present. Within the therapeutic space we can develop insight that expands our consciousness of self, other, and the world around us.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer a free 15-minute consultation phone call to discuss your therapy goals and determine if we are a good fit.
